ABOUT
San Carlos is the Capital of the “Rio San Juan” area. The city on the Border to Costa Rica was founded by the Spaniards as trade point in 1550.
The department is a combination of several communities along the river San Juan which are mainly accessible through the water ways.
It is the perfect area for sport fishing, exploring the tropical landscape and jungle or to make archeological excursions to the old ruins like Fortress “El Castillo”
